Testing the Sustainable University Evaluation Model in real university environments.
From Model to Practice
TranSustain HE is an applied research project: its evaluation model is designed to be used, not shelved. The pilot programme is the stage where the model and its digital assessment system meet reality. Selected universities will run the complete assessment cycle (data collection, indicator scoring, perception surveys, and reporting), and their feedback will directly shape the final version of the model and software.
How the Pilot Works
• What is tested: the web-based digital assessment system built on the TranSustain Sustainable University Evaluation Model;
• When: the pilot implementation is scheduled for December 2026 – February 2027, followed by data analysis and reporting in March – May 2027;
• Quality: data collection and analysis are designed to follow international statistical standards;
• Scale: 8–12 universities are expected to test the system in depth, with 20–30 institutions involved in the wider pilot process;
• Support: participating institutions receive information and training seminars, a multilingual user guide, and continuous support from the project team. Data collection is carried out remotely, requiring no additional infrastructure.
Pilot Networks
The pilot is designed to run through established university networks on two tracks:
• In Türkiye, through the UNIKOP University Alliance (13 universities), founded and coordinated by project partner KOP Regional Development Administration;
• In Europe, through the universities and sustainability offices of the partner countries and their networks, together with institutions beyond the consortium that wish to take part.
An Open Invitation
We warmly welcome universities that wish to take part. Participation in the pilot offers institutions:
• an early, structured picture of their sustainability performance across environmental, social, and financial dimensions;
• insight into how institutional sustainability practices are actually experienced by students and staff;
• the opportunity to shape a European assessment model before its wider rollout;
• visibility as a pioneer institution in the project's publications and dissemination events, at no cost.
Universities, sustainability offices, and higher education networks interested in joining the pilot, or simply in learning more, are invited to contact us at contact@transustainhe.eu. Requests and suggestions from interested institutions are gladly received and will be considered in the pilot planning.
Updates on the pilot schedule, participating institutions, and results will be published on this page.
